Salon international de la Géomatique, Abidjan - April 2023
Introduction: On April 28th, I had the honor of speaking at the International Geomatics Exhibition 2023 in Abidjan, organized by the National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG). My talk focused on the theme "Geoinformation, Territory Management, Urbanization, and Transportation." The objective of this exhibition was to share geoinformation solutions with representatives from various territorial collectives, helping them address management challenges they encounter. In this article, I would like to share the enriching experiences and valuable insights gained from my conference.
1. Conference Context: The
conference took place within the framework of the International Geomatics
Exhibition, bringing together experts, professionals, and decision-makers in
the geoinformation field. The main objective was to present the latest
technological advancements, best practices, and innovative solutions related to
territory management, urbanization, and transportation. It provided a unique
opportunity to share knowledge and exchange ideas with key stakeholders in this
domain.
2. Sharing Experiences and
Solutions:
My talk focused on the use of
geoinformation as an essential tool for territory management, with a particular
emphasis on the challenges of urbanization and transportation. I presented
participants with various applications of geoinformation in urban planning,
infrastructure management, mobility, and decision-making. I also highlighted
the importance of collecting and analyzing accurate geospatial data for
effective territorial management.
During my talk, I had the
opportunity to share concrete examples and successful case studies that
demonstrated the use of geoinformation in addressing specific issues related to
urbanization and transportation. I discussed the benefits of using technologies
such as geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and digital
mapping to collect data, analyze trends, forecast future needs, and make
informed decisions.
Conclusion:
Participating in the
International Geomatics Exhibition 2023 and delivering my talk on
geoinformation, territory management, urbanization, and transportation was an
enriching experience. It provided a platform to share insights, exchange ideas,
and showcase the practical applications of geoinformation in addressing
management challenges. By leveraging geoinformation solutions, elected
officials and territorial collectives can make informed decisions, optimize
resource allocation, and ensure sustainable development. The exhibition served
as a valuable forum for knowledge sharing and collaboration, contributing to
the advancement of geoinformation practices in territorial management.
